Detecting server brick dyanamically
Is it possible to detect a server brick dynamically from a client without stopping the client demon in GlusterFS 1.3
No Data Protection
I noticed that if a gluster server in the cluster goes down, the gluster client will have data loss... Is performance the main goal of Gluster, or will data protection be incorporated in the future?
ANS: You have AFR to achieve the data replication, using which you can protect your data. Was that the thing you were asking? If you have questions, Mailing list is the fasted way to get the response.
If the nodes are relying on external storage can a block level snap-shot occur?
Would this have to be in a crash consistent state only, or would it be possible for a file system snapshot agent to be scripted to enable point-in-time transactional integrity?
The reason I'd like to do this, is that I can replicate site to site very efficiently at a block level change, and my replication supports a high level of encryption.
